From to Fluo, an assuredly entrepreneurial path!

Founder of the insurance comparison site, Jehan de Castet now runs Fluo. This startup is developing a mobile app to help consumers see more clearly when it comes to insurance contracts.

There are a thousand reasons to choose an entrepreneurial path, but for Jehan de Castet, all started with a simple observation: the need to solve consumer insurance problems and clarify insurance contracts. Based on this conviction, the founder first launched the company Courtanet in 2005. Today, it is better known by the name of its famous online service,

From B2B to B2C

At first, the startup published software tools designed for insurance brokers. The idea? To compare all the insurance companies on the marketplace and steer their clients towards the best-performing offer. But in practice, the B2B model turned out to be more complex than expected. So the team decided to enrich its offer by developing a website open to the general public:, which triggered new competition between key market players, thereby guaranteeing visitors the best possible insurance offer. By the end of 2017, had won 40% of market share, producing 3 million quotes annually.

From web to mobile

Noticing the massive use of smartphones, Jehan de Castet left the company in 2013 to launch Fluo. Downloaded by nearly 120,000 users, this application lets them not only get information before committing to an insurer, but also chase down unnecessary or redundant costs in their overall insurance budget. By analyzing their total insurance package – loan, car, travel, ski, health, home – Fluo helps users save several hundred Euros each year.
