The Paris area boasts a concentration of high-performance startups, as well as corporate research centers attracted by its vast pool of qualified talent. Paris&Co, the economic development agency of Paris, is charged with promoting the French capital abroad. The agency welcomes foreign startups to participate in its dedicated incubator Comet, located in the heart of Paris.
After a call for candidates that attracted several dozen applicants on a variety of themes, the first 23 startups selected to join the Swave fintech platform moved into their offices at La Défense on Monday, 29 January.
The European Commission awarded the 2017 European Capital of Innovation (iCapital) prize of €1,000,000 to Paris.

In March 2017, to make sure startups were in the race, Paris&Co dedicated its 3rd edition of the Hacking de l’Hôtel de Ville to the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Demo Day is the grand finale of a marathon month for selected foreign startups participating in the PLP_Explore program. The evening is paced by a series of entrepreneurs who pitch their innovations to an audience of investors, corporates, institutional investors and other key players of business development in France
