Mexican startups in Paris
Throughout 2017, the international team at Paris&Co signed new partnerships to facilitate exchanges between Paris and other leading centers of innovation. The first was with Mexico where a partnership was signed with Startup Mexico, one of the country’s main incubators. Paris&Co startups can now benefit from one month’s free office space in their premises, along with dedicated onsite support. Paris&Co has also committed to supporting startups in the framework of the “Paris Landing Pack Explore”. Two new ventures joined the program in 2017: Gaszen and Zaveapp, a fintech application that lets young people save money to reach short-term objectives in a simple, fun way (see video).
Paris – London cooperation
The “Paris & London Business Welcome” program was launched in October to facilitate entrepreneur mobility between these two major European innovation hubs. Following Brexit, the two cities wanted to reinforce their ties and cooperate in a significant and concrete way. A delegation of 14 London startups came to Paris at the end of October accompanied by Sadiq Kahn, the mayor of London, to find out more about the Parisian innovation ecosystem.
Finally, in the framework of an agreement with Berlin Partners, 3 German startups were welcomed into the June 2017 class of the Paris Landing Pack Explore. In addition to a networking evening designed to reinforce links between these two ecosystems, certain startups such as UNU Motors had the opportunity to participate in Viva Tech and display their electric moped; others, such as iRewardHealth, got to meet the French President Emmanuel Macron.
Incidentally, UNU Motors is also one of the 3 foreign startups to win the Paris Living City Award, the international category of the City of Paris Innovation Grand Prix 2017.
